Syn magazine

2024

01 ABOUT

Syn takes its name from “syncretic,” a term rooted in Fauvism that highlights the fusion of diverse styles and cultures. This concept serves as the foundation of the magazine, which aims to blend various forms of art, philosophy, morality, and culture through the lens of creativity. The first issue explores a range of topics, including music, performance art, cinema, philosophy, and thoughtful reflections on the world of art.

02 BRANDING

The brand identity revolves around the name “Syn” and incorporates three distinct typographies, each representing a different cultural or stylistic influence. The “S” symbolizes urban culture and contemporary art, the “y” evokes the classical traditions of art, and the “n” reflects the emergence of digital culture and modernity. These three simple yet meaningful elements form the basis of a clean and deeply symbolic visual identity.

03 DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

This first issue features 32 pages of innovative layouts, inspired by extensive research into multiple magazine designs. Each page offers a fresh and refined approach, delivering a visually compelling experience for readers.

The magazine’s layout is designed in harmony with its visual identity, aiming to blend various designs into a unified whole. Simple and easy-to-read fonts were chosen to complement the clean and cohesive aesthetic of the overall layout. Striking images were selected to accompany the text, with certain sections highlighted to draw the viewer’s attention.

As previously mentioned, this magazine explores not only art but also philosophy and life itself. This combination of impactful visuals and emphasized text perfectly aligns with its purpose, creating a compelling and thought-provoking experience for the reader.

This is why the magazine’s purpose and values are perfectly conveyed through its design: to teach and educate about various forms of artistic expression and human thought to a diverse audience interested in these topics. It strives to go beyond merely explaining the subject matter, aiming instead to provoke reflection and deeper engagement from the reader.
